

Upon launch of Prelyria, players will be able to create characters and walk around in the world, role-playing and interacting with their fellow players while helping test the game mechanics. It will not reflect the experience of crafting in the regular game. Crafting in Prelyria will be a feature used to validate the overall system of gathering resources, converting them into crafting materials, crafting components, and then constructing them into objects. Combat in Prelyria will not work like it does in Prologue, Exposition, or the released game. In many cases, such as combat, they exist in Prelyria as a shadow or completely disassociated version of the final system. As necessary elements to test the other intended features of the game, they will be present in Prelyria, but not to validate those specific mechanics. Prelyria will have cameo features as well, such as survival mechanics, combat, crafting, and others. The "alpha" is intended to span anywhere from 30 to 50 in-game years, to allow the incorporation of other mechanics such as:

Either you have paid to play the game, or you have not.As it will be used to model player interaction, Prelyria will deploy with the important multi-player mechanics of the game. This means that there will be no pay to win options or micro-transactions. It should be noted that while backers can buy pledge packs prior to game launch, the only thing players will be able to purchase post launch, aside from the game, will be additional souls and sparks of life. This game mode permits players with domain permissions to control various aspects of the land and Kingdom that they control. Kingdoms of Elyria is a top-down, 2D graphical overlay game mode similar to a strategy game.
